Portland's Regional Chamber of Commerce, the Portland Business Alliance, interviews local green businesses leading the way in sustainability and energy efficiency.
Portland, OR, June 01, 2009 -- Sustainable businesses can be any type of business from insurance and financial services to catering and gourmet retail, as seen in the second installment of the Portland Business Alliance's new video series. Alliance board chair, Steve Holwerda, learns how The Standard and Elephant's Delicatessen are making business decisions that help their planet and their business.
In the video, which can be seen at http://snipurl.com/greenbusiness Holwerda talks with The Standard's sustainability program manager and learns about their efforts to be more energy efficient and offer employees more transportation options.
"Any type of business can figure out ways to be more sustainable," said Steve Holwerda, Alliance board chair. "Identifying waste and figuring out how to do more with less is good for your business and good for the environment."
Holwerda also visits Elephant's Deli where he chats with one of the owners, Anne Weaver, and learns about biodegradable cutlery, responsible food waste disposal and how the catering industry is going green.
